WSOP Online Series Set to Start Across Three Major Sites

The World Series of Poker ended in Las Vegas just a month ago, but after seven weeks of summer action in Las Vegas, the biggest tournament festival is back. Taking place online at GGPoker, WSOP.com and GGPoker.ca in Canada, the WSOP Online Series begins on August 20th and will continue right through to October 17th, with some of the world’s best poker players taking part in a bid to win gold.

An Extensive Online Schedule

With just over eight weeks of poker comprising the 2023 WSOP Online Series, there are going to be dozens of great opportunities to end bracelet droughts for poker players of huge repute and new vigor. With WSOP gold bracelets to be won at GGPoker, WSOP.com and GGPoker.ca, the return of the WSOP Online series is going to be big news for many players who both succeeded in Vegas or fancy taking another shot.

Since 2020, the WSOP Online series has become an important part of poker eco-system and the streaming element to playing online poker means that players from all over the world have the chance to add ‘WSOP Bracelet Winner’ to their Twitter bios. In its fourth year, the permanent addition of a WSOP Online Series is now a staple of the action, and there are a number of ways to get involved in 2023.

Overall, there are a total of 33 WSOP on offer during the WSOP Online Series at WSOP.com and on GGPoker, with eight further events on GGPoker.ca meaning there are a possible 41 bracelet events out there for players willing to travel to territories around the world.

The WSOP Online Series kicks off on GGPoker and GGPoker.CA from August 20th, running until October 2nd, with the WSOP.com section of the schedule bracketed between September 10th and October 17th, closing out the series. There will also be satellites taking place all day on one or both of the sites in question, with the World Series of Poker organizers promising tournaments for players of all levels, not just the high rollers of the poker world.

WSOP Promise “Bling is the Thing”, Negreanu Confirms Streaming

“WSOP ONLINE IS WHERE WE CAN DELIVER A CHANCE FOR GLORY TO PLAYERS ACROSS THE WORLD.”

With the series due to start in 48 hours on GGPoker, Ty Stewart, the WSOP’s Executive Director, couldn’t be more excited for what’s about to take place.

“With record-smashing events and something for everyone, WSOP Online is quickly realizing its vision to be the premier annual online poker series,” he said in a statement. “We’re the ‘World’ Series of Poker and backed by GGPoker, WSOP Online is where we can deliver a chance for glory to players across the world who might not otherwise travel to live events. Bling is the thing, and we’ll be looking forward to welcoming new members to poker’s most exclusive club.”

Bling is the Thing seems like the right kind of slogan to get any true poker player’s heart pumping and is way catchier than some of the WSOP’s post-COVID efforts. There are many draws to playing the WSOP Online Series, but one of those will definitely be the presence of some of the game’s greats on the opposite side of your virtual poker felt.

Chief amongst those is the six-time bracelet winner, Daniel Negreanu. Now the face of GGPoker, the global GGPoker Ambassador discussed his heading to play WSOP Online via GGPoker and elsewhere in a recent podcast.

Negreanu also reacted positively to Patrick Leonard’s amusing video about lemonade-selling dogs (yes, really) when the British player said he’ll be playing from Vancouver. Looks like the passionate Canadian ‘DNegs’ is heading back to the homeland.

Negreanu has already confirmed via GGPoker that he’ll be taking part in several specific events during the series, such as Event #7, the $10 Mystery Millions $10M GTD, Event #10, the $1,050-entry Beat The Pros Bounty NLHE tournament and Event #12, the $500-entry Mini Main Event, which has a $2.5 million guarantee. Kid Poker will be live streaming throughout the festival and even plans to sell action through the GGPoker app.
