The 2023 Poker Masters begins in Las Vegas today at ARIA and with some of the best players in the world taking each other on at the felt, it’s going to be a thriller. There are 10 events on the schedule, each taking part in No Limit Hold’em between September 14th and 26th, with everyone chasing the Purple Jacket that is reserved for the winner.
As the drama plays out at the PokerGO Studio at ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, who’ll become the eighth Poker Masters champion is the question on everybody’s lips. The second question should be: how can I back the winner?
The Poker Masters Schedule in Full
Ten events, ten event winners, and of course one Purple Jacket. Whoever racks up the most points will follow legends such as Sam Soverel, Michael Addamo and Sean Winter into the record books. There are ten events, with six costing $10,000 to play, three costing $25,000 and just one, the final Poker Masters Main Event costing $50,000 to take part in.
Whatever players win will be up for grabs on the Poker Masters Staking page on PokerStake, with some star names to invest in which we’ll break down in a moment. Staking the Superstars
There are some incredible names who have put their names up for action on PokerStaker. Aram Zobian has won $3.6 million in live ranking poker tournaments alone and has two very creditable recent results in the same venue to his name, with 5th and 12th place finishes in the 2023 U.S. Poker Open in March. He also won $178k by coming runner-up in the Wynn Millions $10,000-entry High Roller tournament in that month, with the buy-in in that event exactly the same as in the first six events of this series, in which Zobian is selling action to.
Brock Wilson’s speciality is at $25,000 and above and his action reflects that, as he is selling 20% of his $25,000 buy-ins in Events #7 through #9, with 25% of his Event #10 stake of $50,000 up for grabs. He’s at just 1.05 markup in those $25,000 events, and a miniscule 1.03 in Event #10.
Cherish Andrews has a great track record in ARIA events and was unlucky to be bad beat out of Event #5 in the USPO earlier this year when she looked great for a podium place. Andrews, the reigning GPI Female Player of the Year, is a standout pick, and has cashed dozens of times since the Spring, notably at the WSOP. Any big result here – she’s selling in Events #1 through #8 with no markup – and she’s likely to crack the top 1,000 on the all-time money list despite being relatively early on in her poker ascent.
Darren Elias should need no introduction to the serious poker fan, and is selling in Events #8 through #10 exclusively at present. With markup between 1.02 and 1.05, the four-time WPT Main Event winner is a tournament specialist and will be bossing it as usual especially if he comes into the final few events fresh.
Two more legends who are selling pieces of their 2023 Poker Masters action include David Coleman and Justin Saliba. Coleman is mainly selling to the $10,000-entry events and Saliba the $25,000 and above, so you could easily split your investments across these two talented American players and sweat the series from home. Either man is a great bet to make the business end of any high roller event.
How to Stake Players on PokerStake
If you’ve never staked on PokerStake before, don’t worry. It really is the easiest process, and we’re not just saying it. Last year, this writer invested in Erik Seidel and the aforementioned Andrews and it couldn’t have been simpler. Depositing takes seconds, as just choosing the percentage you want to buy.
Then it was a case of cheering on my horses despite them having no idea I’d bought a piece of them. There was no pressure on them, and only fun for me. As it happened, Seidel just missed the money, but Andrews paid off, and I cashed out a return on my $100 investment of $176.
There are no fees, and it takes minutes to go through the short steps to investing. It took less time than putting on my weekend’s sports bets, that’s for sure! But if you want to hear from a poker professional on the process, we spoke to the hugely popular Mike Jozoff about his brilliant record in buying pieces of players on PokerStake to see exactly how it is done.
Good luck staking your horses in the 2023 Poker Masters… unless they’re against mine!
