The 2024 North American Poker Tour (NAPT) returns to Las Vegas this week as 10 days of titanic tournaments take over the poker world. With some superb players at the felt in events such as the $25,000 High Roller, $550 Mystery Bounty and $5,300 Main Event, PokerStake is the place to be as you can buy poker royalty and grab your piece of the action.
Chainsaw Ready to Cut Through Opposition
With so many big names in action in Las Vegas, it’s difficult to know where to start. Let’s ‘cut’ right to the quick with Allen Kessler, a.k.a. ‘Chainsaw’, who looks to build on one of his best years as a poker professional with appearances in multiple events. Chainsaw is playing the very first event of the series, the $500 Mystery Bounty Event #1 and selling at markup of just 1.15.
Also playing Events #3, #4, #11 – the Main Event – and #29, the 8-Game, Kessler’s mixed game prowess certainly appeals at no markup at all in that latest event. Chainsaw is also playing other events such as the NAPT Cup, otherwise known as Event #26, with bullets #1 and #2 on sale at 1.15 markup too.
Chainsaw has cashed in a dozen events since the start of June alone, so is no stranger to playing long series with a heavy tournament schedule. Sure to be hunting value across the board, Chainsaw’s infamous dry wit combined with his ability to turn it on in any format of poker – his last four cashes have been in H.O.R.S.E., PLOT 8 or Better, Limit 2-7 Triple Draw and Dealer’s Choice – are sure to make him a winner in Las Vegas.
High Roller Regulars on the Board
A trio of top talents are ready to go in some of the biggest events on offer this coming week. David Coleman has already had a hugely successful 2024 at the poker felt, winning over $3.8 million – more than half of his career earnings – in the past 12 months. Coleman’s career has skyrocketed in the past year and is only selling to the fifth event of the series – the NAPT Super High Roller – at present. That may change, but get involved in this event first, snapping him up at between 1.07 and 1.10 markup.
Brock Wilson is also selling to the Super High Roller and like Coleman, has a first, second and third bullet on sale at between 1.07 and 1.10. Wilson’s 2024 has been so good that he has risen into 79th place with a recent win in the 7th event of the Poker Masters series earning him $330,000 alone. Wilson’s consistency is impressive, and he didn’t take on the 2023 NAPT, so expect him to succeed in 2024.
If you don’t fancy those two Super High Roller slayers, why not take a piece of Stephen Song? The WSOP bracelet winner won the $1,700 NLHE Main Event in Chicago on the WSOP Circuit a year ago, banking a massive $183,508. That kind of return on investment would be huge if it came at the NAPT and you can swoop in and grab a piece of the pie if you’re quick.
Cherish the Moment
Several other players provide great value alternatives through the 2024 NAPT. Cherish Andrews is looking to maintain her record as one of the very best female poker players on the planet and is playing Event #3, the $1,100 RunGood Open, Event #5, the $25,000 Super High Roller, Event #11, the $5,300 Main Event and Event #28, the $10,300 High Roller. Always a great sweat, Andrews is unmissable in all those events but having just won the $1,600 Wynn Fall Classic this week for six figures, she’s in the groove in the kind of events around that buy-in.
Victoria Livschitz went ahead with the planned decision she had to move away from tech at long last, with the millionairess investor and inventor ‘concentrating on poker’ for the foreseeable future. Great for business if you’re her, not so much for her opponents. Livschitz is playing a whole host of events, all of them at ‘spot’, i.e. no markup at all. Don’t miss out.
Jonathan Little is one poker’s most consistent performers and could well go past $10 million in live winnings before 2024 is out. Exactly a year ago, Little was crushing the StormX Invitational Cup for $130,386 before two massive wins in the PokerGO Cup bagged him over $680,000 on his way to one of the best years of his poker career. Little is selling to Events #5, #11 and #28 at markup of between 1.00 to 1.15.
Aram Zobian has performed admirably in the past six months alone, racking up a multitude of final table appearances in some of the biggest high roller events in the world of poker. Selling to Event #5 only – at markup of between 1.06 to 1.08 – Zobian is an absolute boss in the latter stages of high roller events and should be backed as a must.
With other superstars such as Ky Nguyen, David Prociak, Carol Szeto, Matt Vengrin, Lexy Gavin-Mather, Guiseppe Pantaleo, Donnie Peters, Kathy Chang, Judy Bielan and Joey Gergiulo all elling action to the 2024 NAPT, you’ve got just hours to invest before the first event of the tournament series begins.
