The 2021 PokerStars SCOOP has come to an end as 'kZhh' won the $10K NLHE Main Event for over $878,000.

The final day of the 2021 PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker brought about some of the largest paydays of the entire series as three Main Events came to a conclusion and some last-hour heroics in the final five events saw players finishing the series on a high.

After four days of play, Event #92-H ($10,300 NLHE 8-Max Main Event) has finally crowned its winner. When the tournament played down to three-handed, the posted pay jumps were enormous. There was a roughly $500,000 difference between third place and the winner. With that in mind, ‘kZhh’, ‘Dannuz0r’, and ‘KayhanMok’ opted to reduce some variance and struck a deal that, while taking a million-dollar payday for one of the players off the table, promised each of them a massive six-figure score.

Despite a deal being in place, there was still an additional $50,000 and the title to play for and the final three players took their time and battled it out. In the end, Hungarian pro ‘kZhh’ pulled out the win, taking home the title and $878,718.14 for first place. Romania’s ‘Dannyz0r’ was the chip leader when the deal was made and so, despite officially finishing in second place, they still ended up the tournament’s biggest winner by locking up $894,551.34 as the runner-up. Kayhan ‘KayhanMok’ Roshanfekr fell in third place and booked a $791,074.32 score, more than $184,000 than was originally posted prize for third place.

SCOOP 2021 $10K PLO champion Ka Kwan ‘kaju85’ Lau started the day with a chance to make history and become a two-time Main Event winner within the same series. However, Lau’s tournament ended in seventh place for which he picked up $174,344.48. When added to his PLO victory of $283,099.34, he finished SCOOP 2021 with $457,443.82 in Main Event final table winnings.

Also of note, New Zealand’s David ‘MissOracle’ Yan ended up in fifth place for $325,098.38, and Christian ‘WATnlos’ Rudolph fell one spot earlier, wrapping up in sixth place for $238,073.88

Austria’s ‘livinmydream1’ made good on their screen name after being the last player standing from the 5,903-entry field of Event #92-M ($1,050 NLHE 8-Max, Main Event). For winning the Medium Main Event, they turned their $1K into a massive $838,908.55 payday, among the largest scores of the entire series. Greece’s ‘alimounda’ finished in second place, taking home $598,000.46 while ‘Morrison830’ from Argentina ended up in third, good for $426,275.10.

SCOOP 92-L ($109 NLHE 8-Max, Main Event) provided an amazing return on investment for Greece’s ‘Cantaloupe91’ who won the event outright and turned their $109 investment into the $376,086.99 first-place prize. The UK’s ‘Essa_mania’ earned runner-up honors and a healthy $265,913.93 score. It was Brazilian grinder ‘carafalo’ who, on their fourth bullet, ended up in third place and collected $188,029.17 for their efforts.

One Last Chance To SCOOP

It turns out that the very first event of the series was one of the last to play out. That’s the deal with Phase tournaments, as players play in any number of opening flights in hopes to build a stack for Day 2 and beyond. Over the duration of the series, 10,813 players took a shot in Event 01-H ($215 NLHE Phase) and 1,111 found their way into Phase 2. In the end, the final four players agreed to a deal that allowed each of them to turn their $215 buy-in into more than $100,000.

Romania’s ‘Virgilik’ locked up a career-high online score by taking down the tournament and adding $161,650.21 to his $1.4 million in career earnings. Vinicius ‘vinimiranda7’ Miranda followed suit and took home his career-high cash of $135,422.62 as the runner-up. Miranda’s countryman, Gabriel ‘Gabriellln’ Novello not only locked up new all-time high cash of $139,006.14 with his third-place finish, but he also earned roughly 50% of everything he’d earned in his young career thus far. The final player in the deal was the Netherlands ‘Killer_ooooo’ who secured $112,492.27 for fourth place, more than $27,000 than the original payout for that position.

Pedro ‘pm_marke’ Marques earned his second career SCOOP title with a victory in Event #98-H ($1,050 NLHE 8-Max, Super Tuesday SE) where he topped the 923-entry field for $109,663.84. Samuel ‘€urop€an’ Vousden nearly picked up his third career SCOOP win but was regulated to second place for which he took home $79,255.42. And ‘Passiveaggro’ took the final spot on the podium, finishing in third place for $57,278.98.

In the final freezeout of the series, Event #100-H ($5,200 NLHE, 8-Max, Final Freeze), ‘Jacob Schindler’ bested the 183 high rollers to take down the $181,516.85 first-place prize. Charlie ‘Epiphany77’ Carrel settled for second place which was good for $140,835.33 while Alexandros ‘Pwndidi’ Theologis scored his third top-three High event finish of the series, bowing out in third place for $109,271.49.

There was one last chance for a big score during the 2021 series as 673-entries fired in Event#102-H ($530 7-Max, Hyper-Turbo, PKO, Series Wrap-up). Former top-10 ranked Brazilian Belarmino ‘PaGaOVelhinho’ De Souza made the most of his last shot and took down the Hyper-Turbo for$26,917.62 plus another $27,027.28 in bounties for a total score of $53,944.90. ‘MacXone’ wrapped the series with a second-place finish which brought them a total of $32,411.36, bounties included. Russia’s ‘LUMPEN1’ ended in third place and earned $15,265.01 with an additional $7,804.69 in bounties added on.
