The excitement of the 2021 PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker may be winding down for international players, but for grinders in Michigan and New Jersey – it’s just getting started.
PokerStars has unveiled the complete schedules for both the Michigan Spring Championship of Online Poker as well as the New Jersey Spring Championship of Online Poker. The two series will take place at the same time, running from May 8-24, and while both will feature the traditional SCOOP three-tiered buy-in format (High, Medium, and Low) the two series have been fine-tuned for each of the two U.S. markets.
$2 Million for MISCOOP
For the first-ever MISCOOP, PokerStars is rolling out a 40-event schedule with a $2 million total prize pool guarantee spread out over its 120 tournaments. Buy-ins range from as little as $5 for some of the Low Events up through the $1,000 NLHE High Roller on May 19.
The series builds to a trio of Main Events that kick off on May 23, including the $300 buy-in High Event that comes with a $200,000 guarantee.
While the schedule is heavily weighted to No Limit Hold’em, MISCOOP also offers Michiganders the chance to win a title in Pot Limit Omaha, PLO8, 5-Card PLO, 8-Game, and HORSE. Plus, there’s a variety of formats including the popular Progressive Knock Out, Heads-Up, and short-handed with a variety of Turbo, Hypers, and Deepstack events.
The series will feature a MISCOOP Leader Board where players earn points for finishing in the money. At the end of the series, the top 30 players on the leader board will split up an added $10,000, with the overall series winner taking down a $3,000 prize.
Those who do not make the money in any given tournament will be given another opportunity to win the very next day. Second Chance Freerolls will run daily and award $1,000 in future MISCOOP tournament tickets.
As is customary, PokerStars will be offering plenty of opportunities for players to win their way into MISCOOP for the minimum. Regularly running satellites and freerolls give players the ability to enter the largest events at a fraction of the cost. Plus, there’s the MISCOOP Depositor Freeroll in which any player, new or current, who deposits $30 or more using the bonus code ‘“MISCOOP” will receive a ticket to the May 23 tournament that promises the top 50 players a seat in the $300 High Main Event.
Also on PokerStars MI, there will be special $3 Sit & Go’s that will award Main Event seats.
NJSCOOP Returns, Bigger Than Ever
The sixth annual NJSCOOP gives Garden State grinders a bit of a different look than that of Michigan. New Jersey players will enjoy a 55-event schedule, each with three-tiered buy-in. The total of 165 tournaments brings with it $1.2 million in total prize money guaranteed. This is a marked uptick from the 96 tournaments offered in 2020 when NJSCOOP offered 48 events at two buy-in levels, making NJSCOOP 2021 the largest series schedule to date.
As it is in Michigan, the High Main Event comes with a $300 buy-in and will take place on Sunday, May 23, however it differs with its $100,000 guarantee.
With NJSCOOP being one of the longest-running online tournament series in the regulated market, Garden State grinders know what they are in for. Plenty of satellites to help players into the largest events for just a little investment plus a variety of games and formats to choose from throughout the series.
All of the bonuses offered to Michigan players are also available in New Jersey including the Second Chance Freerolls and the Depositor Freeroll. New Jersey players just need to use the bonus code “NJSCOOP” when depositing $30 or more.
A complete schedule of events for both MISCOOP or NJSCOOP is now available in the software client or to view on the PokerStars Blog.
