PokerStars is rolling out a brand new summer tournament series for each of their U.S.-based sites. The first-ever Summer Stacks Festival will take place in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and New Jersey from June 12-28 with each state getting a series of 100 tournaments with buy-ins of $100 or less.
In the wake of the 2021 Spring Championship of Online Poker, PokerStars is looking to keep the momentum going in each of the three markets. The online site is putting up more than $2.5 million in total guaranteed prize money spanning all three series to give their U.S. customers another round of big-money tournaments to battle in.
In Pennsylvania, the Summer Stacks Festival boasts just over $1 million ($1.045 million) in guarantees, including the $100,000 guaranteed, two-day Main Event. It’s very similar in Michigan, where the series is guaranteed an even $1 million and has an identical Main Event. The New Jersey market is smaller, but still has a total series guarantee of $528K and a Main Event with a $50,000 guarantee.
It’s important to note, that while the Summer Stacks Festival is taking place over the same 17 days in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and New Jersey, each of the three states has its own separate player pools. That means that players will only be able to play against players in the same state. However, in order to participate in any of the three series, a player just needs to be physically located in that state, not necessarily a resident.
While there are differences in each of the three schedules, which can be seen in the schedules below, they all share an abundance of turbo and shorter structured events to keep the evening tournaments accessible for new and casual players.
PokerStars is also providing plenty of freerolls to give players a shot to get involved for the bare minimum. This includes a Depositor Freeroll that will give away $10,000 worth of Summer Stacks Main Event tickets for each market. Players can pick up a ticket to the Depositor Freeroll by making a deposit of $30 or more using the bonus code “SUMMER21”.
Another bonus for players is the return of PokerStars’ popular Second Chance Freerolls which will be running throughout the duration of the series. All players who enter any of the Summer Stacks Festival events, but fall short of making the money, will be placed into a freeroll tournament the next day where tickets to future events will be awarded. Over the course of the schedule, $10,000 worth of tickets will be given away in the Second Chance Freerolls.
