GGPoker 2024 GG World Festival – Week 5.5

The final week of the 2024 GGPoker World Festival has concluded, and we are about to head into the last weekend of action. Players have competed for over $220 million these past few weeks and won even more. As we head into the festival’s final weekend, over $30 million in guarantees remain, including the Global MILLION$ Mystery Close.

In the past week, approximately 160 events have wrapped up. We’ll focus on highlights from each tier, but first, let’s review the current standings on the leaderboards as we head into the final weekend, which collectively offer $2,500,000 in prizes.

Leaderboard Updates

The Super High Leaderboard, which awards $1,000,000 to the top 100 players, is still being led by R Romanovskyi, now with 3,978.12 points. Romanovskyi has a lead of nearly 700 points over Niklas Astedt who has maintained his second place position with 3,290.15. David Peters is in third place with 3,050.48 points. Andrii Derzhypilskyi is sitting in fourth with 2,953.56 points and Bert Stevens, with 2,925.55 points, completes the top five.

The High Leaderboard still has Jacopo Olivieri at the top with 5,775.79 points. He is still being closely followed by ‘AyrtonSenn@’ with 5,497.78 points. ‘Iambeggar’ has maintained his in third place position with 5,201.82 points, while ‘EvilDrake’ and ‘Chicharito14’ have jumped into fourth and fifth place with 4,959.72 and 4,765.20 points, respectively. This tier’s leaderboard race has, after 5 weeks, started to open up.

The Medium Leaderboard, which offers $500,000 to the top 500 players, saw significant changes this week. ‘Bowrot-‘ has jumped into the lead with 6,843.86 points, while ‘zemachess’ fell to second place with 6,736.39 points. ‘KingOfAllIns’ climbed up to third, claiming the final spot on the podium with 6,645.66 points. ‘buenaonda’ and ‘SpicyTaco’ maintained their fourth and fifth place positions with 6,553.20 and 6,477.66 points. With less than 400 points separating the leaders, the competition in this tier will come down to the wire.


On the Low Stakes Leaderboard, ‘Survivor39’ continues to lead with 7,386.44 points. ‘Marin win’ is in second place, having closed the gap and now has 7,205.28 points. ‘TrebaKesaMoneys’ is in third with 6,878.36, with ‘maruzzz’ (6,834.45 points) and ‘Farsaa’ (6,779.19 points) completing the top five. The race for the top spots in this tier is as tight as possible as we approach the festival’s final days.

Super High Stakes

The highlight of the Super High Roller tier was Event 329-S: $10,300 Tuesday Classic Super HR with a $200,000 guarantee. This event drew 30 entrants, creating a $300,000 prize pool. Johannes Straver emerged victorious, taking home $108,634.74 after nearly six hours of intense competition. Juan Dominguez finished second, earning $81,464.57, while David Peters secured third place with a payout of $61,089.81. Mauricio Pais rounded out the top four, winning $45,810.88.

Another notable event was Event 319-S: $10,300 Monday Super HR, featuring a $10,300 buy-in and a $400,000 guarantee. With 83 participants, the prize pool reached $830,000. After over seven hours of play, Marius Gierse claimed the top prize of $174,685.50. Jans Arends finished second, earning $168,173.88, while Adrian Mateos took third place with $117,160.69. Other notable payouts included C Vogelsang with $91,371.47 for fourth place and Barry Hutter who secured $71,258.89 in fifth.

High Stakes

In the High tier, Event 318-H: $525 Bounty Hunters HR [Classic] exceeded its $350,000 guarantee, creating a $452,500 prize pool from 905 entrants. ‘NuttyWolves’ emerged victorious, taking home $27,511.70 plus $35,507.91 in bounties, for a total of $63,019.61. ‘Shandaru’ finished second, earning $27,466.82 plus $14,037.14 in bounties, for a total of $41,503.96. Bert Stevens secured third place with a payout of $20,424.24 plus $6,478.52 in bounties, totaling $26,902.76. M Joelsson and ‘Code Enfant’ rounded out the top five, earning $17,761.10 and $14,079.77 respectively, including their bounties.

Another High Tier highlight was Event 348-H: $1,050 Thursday Throwdown [Bounty], which surpassed its $200,000 guarantee, creating a $323,000 prize pool from 323 players. ‘tyupo’ won the event, earning $25,602.24 plus $34,515.63 in bounties, for a total of $60,117.87. A Pateychuk finished second, taking home $25,570.37 plus $9,437.50 in bounties, for a total of $35,007.87. ‘LJJKB77’ secured third place with a payout of $19,010.47 plus $8,000 in bounties, totaling $27,010.47. ‘StackOderWeg’ and Jacopo Olivieri completed the top five, earning $19,749.72 and $16,057.13 respectively, including their bounties.

Medium Stakes

In the Medium tier, Event 348-M: $150 Thursday Throwdown [Bounty] surpassed its $200,000 guarantee, creating a $321,408 prize pool from 2,304 entrants. ‘rafaelomito2’ emerged victorious, taking home $16,127.01 plus $15,509.91 in bounties, for a total of $31,636.92. ‘AllInYoFace’ finished second, earning $16,094.29 plus $2,060.92 in bounties, for a total of $18,155.21. ‘Barry_Allin’ secured third place with a payout of $11,969.67 plus $6,919.44 in bounties, totaling $18,889.11.

The Medium tier saw Event 318-M: $54 Bounty Hunters Daily Main [Classic] surpass its $300,000 guarantee, creating a $364,900 prize pool from 7,298 entrants. ‘KingIndian’ won the event, taking home $15,002.13 plus $13,416.01 in bounties, for a total of $28,418.14. ‘noguefilho’ finished second, earning $14,961.74 plus $2,668.88 in bounties, for a total of $17,630.62. ‘DogHouseMAXWIN’ secured third place with a payout of $11,129.82 plus $1,364.90 in bounties, totaling $12,494.72.

Low Stakes

In the Low tier, Event 348-L: $25 Thursday Mini Throwdown [Bounty] exceeded its $125,000 guarantee, creating a $162,005.60 prize pool from 6,983 players. ‘Haval’ emerged victorious, earning $6,580.27 plus $5,339.22 in bounties, for a total of $11,919.49.

Another Low tier highlight was Event 319-L: $25 Monday Mini Monster Stack, which surpassed its $60,000 guarantee, creating a $76,406 prize pool from 3,322 players. ‘themythos’ won the event, taking home the top prize of $8,794.30 after over nine hours of play.
