Francisco Benitez was one of three players to win a GGPoker Spring Festival High buy-in level event on Wednesday and the only one of the three to get close to winning six figures.
Benitez stood tall over a 259-entry field in Event #88 ($2,100 Bounty) and collected a $98,487.97 payday. The last player Benitez eliminated, Sergei Denisov, picked up his second runner-up finish of the GGSF and earned $42,795.64. ’27 cm’ didn’t quite measure up to being a champion on Tuesday and took third for $43,044.89.
Last Tuesday, Denisov finished second to ‘CrossfireX‘ in Event #58-H: $10,300 Thursday Thriller Bounty.
Xuming ‘scplayer’ Qi turned his $525 buy-in – and his second bullet – into $54,016.36 after outlasting 692 other entries in Event #86-H ($525 Forty Stack). ‘PapiPapo‘ earned the silver medal and $41,325.62 for a second place finish. Urmo Velvelt finished in third place for the third time in the past two weeks, this time earning $31,616.83.
Canada’s Ami Barer took down event Event #89-H ($1,050 PLO-NL Bounty Hyper) to win $23,797.95. His victory denied Christian Rudolph from pulling off a double-victory day. Rudolph, who won Event #27-H ($2,100 Bounty) earlier in the series, finished second to Barer only moments after winning Event #83-M ($1,050 Super Tuesday). Third place finisher Konstantin Maslak banked $7,335.73 for his efforts.
