Seventeen events are in the books at the 2010 World Series of Poker (WSOP). Amazingly, members of the online poker community have scored bracelets in four of them, as the latest piece of hardware went to Jason TheMasterJ33DeWitt, who took down a $5,000 No Limit Hold’em event (#17). The final table was stacked with PocketFives.com members, leading to one of the most electric atmospheres at the Rio in Las Vegas so far. Let’s take a look back at the finale of this event.

The U.K.’s Paul badpab2Foltyn (pictured) was eliminated in eighth place as the second casualty of the final table. He ran pocket fives into pocket aces in his final stand, only to watch the board come K-4-7-4-6. He earned $80,000 for his efforts and appeared at his second WSOP final table.

James croll103Carroll (pictured) exited in seventh place from Event #17 and banked $103,000. Carroll had the unfortunate fate of running pocket kings into the pocket aces of fellow online poker pro Jeff yellowsubWilliams. The board came five cards 10 or lower and Williams scooped the massive pot. Carroll lodged his first cash at the Las Vegas WSOP; he made the final table of the Caesars Palace Circuit Championship in April for $44,000.

David RaptorBenefield was ousted in sixth place. Benefield was all-in and received two callers, who checked the action down to the river on a board of A-9-J-5-K. Sam Trickett scooped the pot with A-8, while Benefield’s pocket threes were sent to the muck. The CardRunners pro picked up $135,000 for his efforts and reached his first WSOP final table.

Fifth place on the Event #17 leaderboard went to DoylesRoomBrunson 10 member Amit amak316Makhija (pictured). He committed his last one million chips with K-6 of hearts after the action folded around to the youngster. Trickett made the call with A-Q of diamonds. The flop came a harmless J-9-4, but Trickett spiked an ace on the turn to seal the win. Makhija walked away with $179,000, the second six-figure cash in his WSOP career.

Williams (pictured), who led the way for much of the final table, exited in third place. The former European Poker Tour (EPT) champion had a rowdy rail in Poker Discussion and 3bet all-in with A-5 pre-flop. DeWitt made the call and flipped up pocket sevens, which held for the win. Williams cashed for $328,00, boosting his career WSOP earnings to near $800,000. His EPT Monte Carlo Grand Final win four years ago was worth close to $1.1 million.

DeWitt open-shoved all-in with 10-8 offsuit and Trickett made the call with A-7 with his tournament life on the line. The flop was an adventurous 8-6-5, giving DeWitt top pair and Trickett an open-ended straight draw. The turn was a six, pairing the board, and a five came on the river to seal the fourth bracelet for a member of the online poker community. DeWitt earned $818,000 for the win; the last three cashes he’s had in the WSOP have all been for final tables.

I feel as if every WSOP recap we write here on PocketFives.com includes a mention of David BakesBaker (pictured). This time, the Michigan native sits atop the leaderboard in the 2-7 Draw Lowball World Championship (Event #19) with 10 players remaining. He has a stack of 526,000, 100,000 ahead of George Danzer‘s second place tally of 425,000. In order to capture his first WSOP bracelet, however, Baker will have to navigate a minefield of competition that includes Full Tilt Pokerpro Erik Seidel, John Juanda, PokerStarsfront manDaniel Negreanu, and Andy Bloch.

The winner of the 2-7 Draw Lowball event banks $294,000, with the 10 players remaining guaranteed $22,000. Baker took sixth in the $50,000 Player’s Championship, which will air on ESPN. Here’s a look at how the final 10 stack up in Event #19:

1. David BakesBaker – 526,000
