The second open $1,000 No Limit Hold’em event (#13) on the 2010 World Series of Poker (WSOP) schedule has played down to its final table. Of the nine players remaining, several are members of the online poker community. Nicholas Salamander Heather (pictured), who won the Mini Full Tilt Online Poker Series (MiniFTOPS) Two-Day Event for $150,000 last month, is in fourth place entering the final table of the $1,000 No Limit Hold’em tournament.
The Dublin native sent David Hong home in 18th place after drawing out on A-K with A-J. The flop came jack-high and no saving grace came for Hong on the turn or river. Heather finished 41st in Event #8 of the 2010 WSOP ($1,500 No Limit Hold’em) and will appear at his first final table in the annual Las Vegas tournament series.
Rounding out the final table in Event #13 is Jared TheWacoKidd Hamby (pictured). The Full Tilt Poker Red Pro bagged the seventh largest stack yesterday at 423,000. Hamby has plenty of live experience to draw from, having taken second in the 2007 World Poker Tour (WPT) Mandalay Bay Championship in 2007 for $459,000 and winning two preliminary events at the Bellagio during the Five Star World Poker Classic one month prior for over $500,000 total.

Sixteen players remain in the $1,500 No Limit Hold’em Six-Handed event (#16); not one, not two, but three members of the online poker community appear in the top five on the leaderboard. Carter bdybldngpkrPhillips leads the way with a stack of 922,000 and has a healthy margin over Mikhail Lakhitov‘s second place tally of 763,000. The two big stacks tangled in a hand late during play on Tuesday where Lakhitov flopped quads against Phillips’ A-10. Lakhitov doubled up and is now comfortably in the hunt for the $482,000 top prize.
Kevin kice32Iacofano (pictured) sits in fourth on the leaderboard with 618,000. He doubled up with pocket jacks against David Doc Sands Sands’ A-Q to move to 256,000 in chips and ended the day with more than twice that amount. Iacofano finished third in a $1,500 Pot Limit Omaha event last year for nearly $100,000 in a tournament that marked the first bracelet win for PokerStarspro Jason treysfull21Mercier.
Fifth place entering the final 16 in Event #16 belongs to Mark RandALLinFlowers (pictured), who has 545,000 in chips. Flowers, a North Carolina native, is still riding the high of his win in a $5,000 preliminary event during the Five Star World Poker Classic for $166,000 in April. Last June, he won the WPT Spanish Championship for nearly $400,000.
