The UltimateBet Online Championship kicks off this Friday, December 1st on a computer near you. 10 events make up the UBOC, which guarantees to pay out over $2 million. From Pot Limit Hold’Em to the brand new Elimination Blackjack, the UBOC promises to deliver excitement, glory, and of course, lots of cash. The ten day UBOC event was created to celebrate Phil Hellmuth’s 10th World Series of Poker Bracelet win, which occurred this year in the $1,000 No Limit Hold’Em with Rebuys event. It was Hellmuth's 10th bracelet in an 18 year span.
The onlne poker tournaments in the UBOC include: No Limit Hold’Em (Events 1, 3, 6, 8, and 10), Pot Limit Omaha High (Event 2), Pot Limit Omaha High With Rebuys (Event 7), Limit Hold’Em (Event 4), Limit Omaha 8 or Better (Event 5), and everyone’s favorite, Elimination Blackjack (Event 9). Each tournament has its own guarantee, ranging between $40,000 and $250,000, certainly enough to attract the best online poker players in the world. The Main Event is a $1 million guarantee, $500 + 30 tournament, on Sunday, December 10th at 3:00pm ET. The winner of each tournament will take home a silver UBOC bracelet in addition to a large sum of money. The UBOC is the latest in several sites' tournament series, with big stakes players battling it out with online poker amateurs who have satellited in. Similar events include the Full Tilt Online Poker Series and the World Championships of Online Poker on PokerStars.
