The World Series of Poker (WSOP) have today announced the return of the legendary Las Vegas festival known as the biggest poker tournament series in the world. The 56th annual WSOP will be back in 2025, and you can save the dates for your diary, with the action kicking off on May 27 and lasting until July 16 next year.
When Does the 2025 WSOP in Las Vegas Take Place?
The most prestigious and longest-running series of poker tournaments, the World Series of Poker is back for a 56th annual festival. Las Vegas will welcome hundreds of thousands of players back to the Sin City Strip in 2025, with May 27 the opening day and July 16 the concluding day of action next year. From the Main Event to the Colossus, the Seniors Event to the Mystery Millions, gold and glory will be on the line in Las Vegas once more.
The action will take place at the Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas on the Las Vegas Strip, where it has resided since its glorious return in 2022. The WSOP Main Event, which costs $10,000 to play and has been in place since 1970, will take place from July 2 to 16 and crown a 2025 world champion for a likely eight-figure top prize at the Horseshoe Events Center at the conclusion of the series.
As ever, excitement abounds for the WSOP, who were bought by GGPoker last year and have since seen prizepools and attendances at the WSOP increase.

With 99 bracelet events taking place at Paris and the Horseshoe in 2024, its possible that 2025 will see over 100 WSOP titles handed out in the live arena, with dozens more being own in the WSOP Online events that punctuate the series.

Some of the events that are guaranteed to feature along the Main Event will likely include the Mystery Millions, Millionaire Maker, and the Senior’s Championship, with other popular tournaments such as the $1,000-entry Tag Team and Shootout events shoe-ins too. There will be a full schedule released in early 2025, and subsequent packages will be available for players and fans to book local hotel at subsidized rates.
After a number of years of renewed success in the live arena, poker has never been stronger and the early announcement of the 2025 WSOP dates only back this up.
