WSOP Europe 2023 Schedule Announced, Main Event Guarantees €5 million

The WSOP Main Event complete just a fortnight ago, but with the record-setting World Championship proving poker is more popular than ever, the WSOP has announced the WSOPE Europe schedule for this Autumn already. There are 15 WSOPE events, with the WSOP Europe Main Event offering a minimum prizepool of €5,000,000 ($5.51 million).

WSOP Heading to Paradise Then Rozvadov

The next few months will be extremely busy if you’re looking to take part in World Series of Poker events. As we announced recently, the World Series of Poker is heading to Atlantis as GGPoker brings players – and the popular Bahamas destination – back. GGPoker’s Daniel Negreanu – a WSOPE Main Event runner-up in 1009 when Barry Shulman won the title – broke the news and the poker world went crazy for it in response.

Just a few short weeks after players come back down to Earth from poker paradise in the sun, they can think about heading to the border of Czech Republic and Germany as Rozvadov once again hosts the World Series of Poker Europe festival. The WSOP Europe Main Event has a huge amount of history to it, with previous winners including the 1989 world champion Phil Hellmuth, the EPT Berlin winner Kevin MacPhee and Poker Hall of Famer John Juanda.

Here are all the former winners of one of poker’s most historic titles.

A Main Event to Savor

The €5,000,000 guaranteed WSOP Europe Main Event is a huge draw for players, and it would seem certain that plenty of U.S. players will take part. They’ll be trying to end an American drought in terms of WSOPE Main Event winners that stretches back to Berlin winner Kevin MacPhee in 2015 over eight years ago.

With the WSOP starring players such as world champion Daniel Weinman, WSOP Player of the Year Ian Matakis and many more, the chances of someone utilizing recent positive experience to continue a heater through the Bahamas and Rozvadov is certainly on the table. King’s Casino in Rozvadov on the Czech/German border is a town focused on poker rather than the bright lights of party town Vegas.

There are 15 bracelet events with €15 million in guarantees up for grabs, but the €10,3500 entry Main Event is the jewel in the crown. Win the €5 million guaranteed event starting on November 10th and like last year’s winner, Swedish player Omar Eljach and you’ll become a poker legend. The 2022 top prize was €1,380,129, the equivalent of around $1.51 million.

Other Big Bracelet Events

With the Main Event bound to attract the most attention, it would be easy to ignore some other huge events happening in the same festival. Mixed events such as €550-entry Pot Limit Omaha 8-Max Event #2 and the €2,000 buy-in 8-Game Mix Event #10, there are also some huge high rollers too.

With a €25,000 GGMILLION$ taking place as the ‘middle pin’ Event #8 of the 15 and is sure to be hugely popular. The GGPoker series, a weekly online event that costs $10,300 to play, has built a cult following in the industry and presented by Jeff Gross on YouTube, has legions of fans following the GGMILLION$ action each week. Seeing it on the live stage with even bigger stakes is going to be a lot of fun.

Finally, the series if bookended by the Opener and Closer No Limit Hold’em events, which appeal to those of a more limited budget. These bracelet events cost €350 and €550 to play so offer more recreational players the opportunity to go down in poker history.

Whoever wins big in Prague is sure to enjoy what could be a very, very well-populated poker festival in the midst of this second industry ‘boom’.
